Installing Ruby language
Ruby is a cross-platform interpreted language which has many features in common with other ‘scripting’ languages such as Perl and Python.
You can simply install Ruby using following code.
$ sudo apt-get install ruby1.9.3
That’s it! Depending on that GEMs you want to install you should install this here, too.
$ apt-get install make bcrypt libxml-ruby1.9.3 libxml2-dev libxslt-dev libpq-dev g++
Your GEMs are at “/var/lib/gem/1.9.3/”. You should add this here your path:
GEM is a pretty cool packaging system for Ruby apps. Take a look to http://rubygems.org.
Usually it is installed together with ruby. You can update your latest version gems with this command:
$ sudo gem update --system
Installing framework Rails
Rails is web framework written in ruby language. This can be install using following commands via GEM.
$ sudo gem install rails
